St Louis CITY2 (8-2-2, 27 points) will look to build on their six-match unbeaten streak on Saturday against Real Monarchs (0-10-2, 2 points). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST at Ralph Korte Stadium in Edwardsville, Ill., and can be seen live on mlsnextpro.com. The match was originally scheduled for 6 p.m. CST but has been pushed back an hour due to the high temperatures predicted for Saturday.

The team is hosting its first-ever Pride Night in support of the LGBTQIA+ community and will feature an exclusive Pride t-shirt designed by STLMade artist Adam Koon and made by print shop Little Tiny Monster that will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds going to official Major League Soccer partner You Can Play Project.

In their last match, CITY2 battled to earn a comeback win against Sporting KC II at Rock Chalk Park on the back of a second-half brace from Max Schneider who found the back of the net in the 64th and 66th minute. Despite going down a goal in the 14th minute, CITY2 dominated Sporting KC II, outshooting them 26-6 on the night. Schneider’s double increased his goal contributions to five (3 goals, 2 assists) in the nine games he has played this season.

With the win against Sporting KC II, CITY2 are now on a six-game unbeaten streak, scoring 15 goals while only conceding five goals in the process. Statistically, the team boasts one of the best defenses in the league, conceding the least shots while forcing the most interceptions (173) in MLS NEXT Pro.

The two teams met earlier in the year with CITY2 coming out on top in a 2-0 win, thanks to a brace from forward Josh Dolling. Dolling is CITY2’s leading goal scorer with six goals and is tied with midfielder Wan Kuzain for the most assists with three. CITY2 hope to secure another win against the Monarchs as they look to maintain their momentum in a tight race at the top of the table.

Real Monarchs are currently sitting at the foot of the table in the Western Conference standings. The Monarchs have struggled on both the attacking and defensive end, scoring just eight goals while conceding 30.
