St Louis CITY2 Drops Three Points at North Texas

St Louis CITY2’s early 2-0 deficit in the first half gave way to a 3-1 defeat at North Texas on Sunday at Choctaw Stadium. CITY2 will conclude the regular season on Sunday, September 18 against Sporting KC II at Centene Stadium. 

North Texas quickly went up 2-0 early in the first half as Bernard Kamungo and Jose Mulato tallied two goals in a 10-minute span. The second half started much like the first half as North Texas added to its lead in the 76th minute with Kamungo tallying his second goal of the match. 

As time was winding down in regulation, Dida Armstrong was able to tally CITY2’s lone goal in the 85th minute to cut the deficit to two, 3-1. 

15-year-old Caden Glover earned his professional debut in the 68th minute when he came on for Ben Di Rosa. 18-year-old Dida Armstrong, who came on in the 60th minute, scored his first career professional goal.  

CITY2 completed their five-match road stretch with a 3-2-0 mark and a plus-five goal differential (15 GF/10 GA). CITY2 finished their road schedule with a 8-3-1 record. The eight road wins are the most in MLS Next Pro.
