After scoring a dramatic goal in second-half stoppage time to earn a draw against Tacoma Defiance last weekend, St Louis CITY2 will now shift its focus to Minnesota United FC 2. The two sides will meet on Sunday, March 26 at CITYPARK, and the match is slated for a 5:00 p.m. CT kickoff and will be televised on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app.

Last season, CITY2 and Minnesota United FC 2 matched up twice, with each side taking one game. Minnesota cruised to a 4-0 victory in the teams’ first matchup, but CITY2 responded with a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the return fixture at National Sports Center in Blaine, MN.

CITY2 enters this season’s matchup having drawn with Tacoma Defiance in the last match. In a game of back-and-forth play, Tacoma took the lead in the 76th minute after heading in a cross. CITY2 eventually responded in a similar manner, with forward Mykhi Joyner heading in the equalizer in second-half stoppage time. Following the late-game heroics, the two teams went to shootouts to determine who would earn the extra point, and it was Tacoma who emerged with the point (5-4).

In their week one matchup, Minnesota secured a commanding 3-0 road victory over Real Monarchs. Forward Diogo Pacheco came through in a big way for the winning side with a goal in each half, and midfielder Leo Conneh contributed a goal of his own during first-half stoppage time.
