St. Louis CITY SC returns to CITYPARK for a matchup with Inter Miami CF this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. CST. The match will be streamed on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app and can be heard by our radio partners on KYKY Y98.1 FM (English) and KXOK 102.9 FM (Spanish).

St. Louis CITY SC split their two road matches against Toronto FC and LAFC, edging Toronto 1-0 thanks to Aziel Jackson’s first MLS goal but then seeing their three-match winning streak snapped against LAFC after falling to the defending MLS Cup champions at BMO Stadium on Wednesday night. CITY SC now owns a 5-5-1 record on the road this season.

Against LAFC, CITY SC midfielder Njabulo Blom led the team with the most interceptions (2), successful dribbles (3) and the most possessions won (13). Blom won seven duels, the second-most on the team behind Niko Gioacchini, who had nine. The South African international ranks seventh in the league for interceptions with 37.

CITY SC Designated Player Eduard Löwen made his return from injury against LAFC after missing the last four games. Prior to the injury, the midfielder scored five goals and provided six assists in 15 games. The midfielder leads the team in assists (6), tackles (31), successful dribbles (36) and crosses (22).

St. Louis CITY SC has recorded MLS highs in both tackles attempted (19.9 per match) and won (12.0 per match) this season. Fourteen different St. Louis players have won at least 10 tackles in 2023, more than any other MLS team.

CITYPARK, home to MLS' newest team St. Louis CITY SC, is becoming a tough place to play in St. Louis' inaugural season. CITY SC has won seven of its first 11 home MLS matches (7-3-1), scoring at least three times in six of those 11 games. St. Louis has won all seven home matches in which they scored multiple goals while failing to win any of the four games in which they were held under two goals.

Offensively, St. Louis has tallied 26 goals in 11 matches at home in MLS, which is tied for second-most in the league with Atlanta United, four behind Columbus Crew. Niko Gioacchini leads the team in goals scored at home with six (6), followed by  Löwen with five (5). Jared Stroud leads the assists charts for CITY SC at home with three (3, followed by Tomáš Ostrák with two (2).

CITY SC's goalkeeper Roman Bürki has recorded four clean sheets at home which is tied for ninth in MLS this season, four behind Seattle's Stefan Frei. Bürki has made 36 saves at home, which is the third most saves in MLS behind Brad Stuver (38) and Drake Callender (41).

On the defensive side of the ball, CITY SC has allowed 10 goals at home in MLS, which is tied for 12th fewest goals allowed at home in the league. CITY SC has trailed just 100 of 990 minutes at CITYPARK in MLS play.

Inter Miami currently sits in 15th place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 5-13-3 record. Miami comes into the match on a ten-game winless streak (0-7-3 record) but have tied each of their last three matches against D.C United (2-2), Columbus (2-2) and Austin (1-1). Inter Miami are 1-8-1 away from home this season, scoring seven goals in the process.

With their 2-2 draw with D.C. United on Saturday, Inter Miami has now drawn three consecutive matches for the first time in club history. Forward Josef Martínez leads Inter Miami with six goals. Since May 17, all 10 of Miami’s goals have been scored in the second half of matches with all other MLS teams having scored at least three first-half goals in that time, per Opta.

Inter Miami has won only one of its five all-time matches against expansion teams (1-3-1 record), a 3-2 win over Charlotte last July. Miami has lost all three away matches against MLS newcomers, failing to score in all three of those matches.
