CITY2 Continues Three-Match Road Trip on Saturday at Chicago Fire II

St. Louis CITY2 will take a four-match unbeaten streak on Saturday against Chicago Fire FC II. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CST at SeatGeek Stadium and can be seen live on MLSNextPro.com.

CITY2 took their three-match unbeaten streak on the road and earned a shootout victory over Colorado Rapids 2, 3-2. CITY2’s Max Schneider, Celio Pompeu, Kyle Heibert, and Josh Dolling all converted their shootout kicks while Michael Creek converted a key save to capture the shootout win. Creek made four saves on six chances to capture his third victory of the season. Akil Watts and Wan Kuzain each found the back of the net in regulation to force the draw.

Chicago Fire II enter Saturday’s match on a three-match losing streak, being outscored 13-4 during the stretch. Chicago has earned points in four of six matches at home, owning a 1-2-3 mark at SeatGeek Stadium. Fire II has had eight players find the back of the net with Josh Penn leading the team with four. Chicago has used three different netminders with Chris Brady leading the group, owning a 0.5 goals-against average, two clean sheets, 18 saves, and a 1-1-2 record.

CITY2 goalkeeper Michael Creek returned in net for the first time since May 7, tallying four saves on six chances against a Colorado Rapids 2 team that first a full senior team starting XI. Creek set the tone in the shootout with a save on the first attempt to give CITY2 a crucial extra point on the road to extend the unbeaten streak to four. Creek has tallied one clean sheet, nine saves, and a 2-2-1 record on the year.
