St. Louis CITY SC Academy teams combined for a 3-2-0 record over the weekend. The U-15s and U-17s ventured to Ohio for showdowns with FC Cincinnati and Columbus Crew’s respective Academy teams, while the U-16s remained in town for their matchup against FC United.

U-15s face stiff competition on the road
After pouring in eleven goals in their last weekend of play, the U-15s found it tougher to find the back of the net in their latest round of action. Hitting the road for both of their matches, the U-15s kicked off their two-match slate against the FC Cincinnati Academy U-15s. Forward Jovanni Giffon powered in a goal, but it wasn’t enough in a 4-1 loss.

The following day, the U-15s took the pitch against the Columbus Crew Academy U-15s. Giffon netted his second goal of the weekend for the squad, but the team dropped the tight affair 2-1.

U-16s edge FC United at home
The U-16s continued their red-hot start to the season over the weekend. Visiting side FC United kept it close, but goals from forward Chidube Nwankwo and forward Stone Marion pushed the team to a 2-1 victory. Defender Andrew Betrand and forward Jojo Adamitis assisted on the goals, respectively. The team is now undefeated over their first six matches, going 5-0-1.

U-17s dominate opponents with goals in high-scoring weekend
Entering the weekend on a two-match unbeaten streak, the U-17s continued their solid run of form in their latest round of action. Opening the weekend on the road against the FC Cincinnati Academy U-17s, midfielder Jack DiMaria (2), forward Nathaniel Null, defender Jacksen McNeal and midfielder Lorenzo Cornelius all punched in goals in a 5-3 win.

Staying on the road, the U-17s traveled north for a meeting with the Columbus Crew Academy U-17s on Sunday. In a dominant outing that included a hat-trick from forward Ryan Dugan and goal from forward Anden Ellis, the boys shut out their hosts 4-0 to pick up all three points.

What’s Next?
The U-16s are the only Academy team that will take the pitch this weekend, hitting the road to face off against Beadling SC on October 15.
